🏈 How Many Survivor Entries Did the Cowboys Just Kill?
Yesterday, we asked who in the world was betting on the 0-4 Buccaneers.
Turns out, they had the right idea.
Tampa Bay didn't just cover the spread Thursday night. The Bucs upset the Cowboys 24-16 to open NFL Week 5. The game went Under 49.
VSiN.com senior editor Zach Cohen had pointed to possible sharp money on Tampa Bay at Circa, where 92% of the spread handle was on the Bucs when we checked Wednesday night. Circa's line closed at Tampa Bay +9.5.
And Zach wasn't the only one who saw trouble coming.
Chris “Wilbo” Wilberding was warning about Dallas on Thursday's Follow The Money with Mitch Moss and guest Derek Stevens.
Wilbo is Circa's director of operations, making his perspective particularly interesting given the betting action we highlighted yesterday.

FYI: Wilbo went with Cincinnati in VSiN's internal Survivor contest.
But how many Circa Survivor contestants did go with Dallas?
There were 5,972 entries still alive entering Week 5, plus just 24 remaining in the $100,000-entry Circa Grandissimo.
PoolGenius estimated that 35% of Survivor entries would pick Dallas. If that projection holds, we're talking about roughly 2,100 entries potentially eliminated before Sunday's games even begin.
We won't know the actual damage until Saturday at 9 p.m. ET, when Derek and Jeff Benson reveal the selections on The Football Contest Show.
“This game will go down in Circa Survivor lore,” wrote Tony Farmer, a regular contributor to the show with Matt Brown.

And if you're still alive in your Survivor pool, Adam Burke has a Week 5 recommendation that doesn't involve Dallas.

A couple of acknowledgments: Congratulations to Zach and everyone who backed Tampa Bay. And well done to VSiN Community member Ryan Barrett, who correctly called George Pickens' anytime touchdown at +120.
As for our resident Cowboys loyalist Dave Ross? I'm guessing VSiN By The Books will be appointment listening this morning (7–10 a.m. ET).

⚾ The Rays May Be the Biggest Winners of Game 5
The Guardians scored just two runs in their first two ALDS games at home. Then they went to Chicago and scored 18 runs in two games to force a winner-take-all Game 5 on Saturday.
But the biggest beneficiary might be Tampa Bay.
Adam Burke sees a pitching problem for whoever survives.
Cleveland manager Stephen Vogt needed Gavin Williams in relief to finish Game 4, potentially complicating his availability for Game 5. Chicago's bullpen is stretched thin, too, with Hagen Smith and Grant Taylor looking exhausted.
And the winner gets a Rays team that makes plenty of contact and has a strong pitching staff.
Adam's betting angle: He likes the Rays at -175 to win the ALCS at DraftKings, as of Thursday night. His expectation is that the price will be higher once the Guardians–White Sox series is decided.
Meanwhile, the National League matchup is set: Dodgers vs. Brewers, beginning Sunday.
