Those elimination games in the Wild Card round get up on you quickly — like today.

“Aggressive pitcher usage was the story on Tuesday. White Sox manager Will Venable used ace reliever Grant Taylor for 2.1 innings and 54 pitches. Yankees skipper Aaron Boone let Cam Schlittler throw 117 pitches in a tight game and he was spectacular until the offense got it going. And, while it didn't work out, Don Mattingly went to Jhoan Duran with a one-run lead in the 7th.
“The winner of Game 1 in the best-of-three Wild Card round is 15-1 for the series, which is exactly why the managers went all out to try and win Tuesday. But, it could have an impact on Wednesday, especially for the White Sox with Taylor likely unavailable.
“The Phillies get to send out Cristopher Sanchez and the Astros can use Hunter Brown in hopes of staying alive. Expect both to go as long as they possibly can.
“As far as the Cubs go, if you're going to lose, you might as well get blown out so that all the high-leverage relievers are fresh for Game 2, especially starting Kevin Gausman, who had a 4.83 ERA over 50.1 innings with Chicago after the trade deadline.”

Since the Wild Card round turned into a series in 2022, teams that won Game 1 have gone 11-5 SU (+7.96 units, 49.8% ROI) and 10-6 on the run line (+3.4 units, 21.3% ROI) in Game 2.

Circa Sports announced Wednesday that Survivor Sweat is the official marketplace for its football contests, allowing bettors to buy and sell interests in live Circa Survivor, Circa Million and Grandissimo entries.
When I checked the marketplace, there were 152 Survivor entries for sale, at wildly different prices depending on the teams still available and how much of the entry the seller was offering.

And it isn’t limited to Survivor. I found 1% of a high-stakes Grandissimo entry listed for $5,000 and 80% of a Circa Million entry with a 10-5 record for $8,000.
Think of it like buying — or selling — a piece of a 3-year-old during Kentucky Derby prep season.
You still have to pick the right horse at the right price.
