They split it between, it is a co-sanctioned DP World Tour event and PGA Tour event.

Uh, what started happening was years ago, not, not years ago, six, seven years ago, you had more of the PGA players showing up to play the Scottish Open when it was a DP World Tour event, so they would acclimate to the time zones better, right- Uh-huh...

uh, before the Open Championship. And they saw all these bigger names starting to come over, and they were like, "All right, let's just make this a real thing." Played at the Renaissance Club.

This is a gorgeous, gorgeous golf course.

The most important note if you are doing your own handicapping at home, you will probably hear every golf handicapper bring this up, and it is important to know this, this is not a true link-style course.

So if you are thinking that they are playing link-style golf this week, no. Save that thought for next week. This is, i- i- it's kind of a mixture of parkland and link-style greens complex, uh, plexes.

But some of the th- things that are important at this course are not going to be nearly as important as when we get, uh, over to the Open next week.

Uh, for instance, distance off the tee, very important th- uh, this week. You're not gonna have as much, uh, if you don't find the fairway, you're not gonna be penalized as much.

So you can really look for some bombers to target this week. Uh, important on approach and then putting. The, the other big thing here, you are seeing, uh, the, the Open-style greens.

So on the Stimp meter, it's about half of what you're used to seeing on the PGA Tour. Really, really slow greens this week. Now, there's two ways to look at this.

When you get, when you go to such slower greens or f- quicker greens like we saw at the US Open, Gil, uh, there's, there's part of me that says it kind of levels the playing field a bit because everybody has to make an, a, a huge adjustment to the green speed.

But when they're this slow, it really lets the good putters kind of take aim. Hmm. So it is something I factored in a little bit more this week than I usually do, uh, was putting stats.

And especially you do have big green complexes, so three putt avoidance, lag putting, those are things to look at as well. But typically you treat putting as random. Uh, i- i- depends what course. Yeah.

But even me compared to other- Yeah... golf handicappers, I do not factor it in- Okay... as much. Um, okay, outrights on my card this week, Ludvig Aberg. I'm going back to Aberg. 30 to 1.

He's put together now a couple events in a row where the ball striking numbers, shout out Chris Falica, uh, are looking really good off the tee, on approach, gaining. He's gotten that back.

He has w- big time distance off the tee here. Um, so I love, Ludvig, anytime he's gonna drift out to that 30 mark is basically gonna be a bet on for me. I really think he's got a bright future, uh, ahead of him.

So Lud- uh, Ludvig, outright top five. I'm going back to Bobby Mac. Really didn't have any intention to play him this week. He won this last year, finished second the year before.

Scottish golfer at Scottish Open makes a lot of sense. But the recent form is really good, too. T17 at the Travelers, second at the US Open, T36 at Canadian Open. Dude's just playing good golf right now.

And then the top 20 market, uh, Tommy Fleetwood plus money. Uh, this guy has played this course, played this course well about a billion times.

If you actually wanna play an outright on Tommy Fleetwood, I, I, I won't hate you, 'cause as we discussed yesterday, it's not the United States, so he could possibly win. [laughs] He could win. Could possibly win.

Um, Max Grazerman, love Grazerman this week. I almost did, I almost went with an outright play. I think I'm gonna be safe, though, safer and just go with a top 20 on him.

Almost got home with him a couple weeks ago, uh, but gaining on a, off the tee and on approach the last five events. He is long off the tee. I think he, his game should fit this course well.

He finished T21 here just a year ago, um, when his game was not nearly as good. So like Grazerman this week. And then Harry Hall was a late add for me.

Uh, just, you know, it's interesting how you talk about some of these derivative markets, and this, this goes across all sports, but sometimes you have a big market move on just a, a straight money line, right?

And we saw the market just absolutely pound Shelton from the time that line opened till the time it closed. But sometimes these secondary markets don't get adjusted at all.

And I noticed the Shelton line, I mean, it stayed plus one and a half sets, plus 110 for hours as the market was crashing, which is just incorrect if you're comparing how the line was moving. Um, so I have that as well.

You can, you know, the live markets, this is the last time you can, you can bet this, but, uh, bef- before this first set wraps up. Uh, I mean, Sinner has not been able to do anything so far on the Shelton serve.

N- not make any in- inroads, as it were, Gil. So I, I still would look to get in th- on that in the next couple minutes, um, if you can. I didn't play anything in the Djokovic match.

It's, you know, such a ridiculously high favorite, and, uh, I would just caution people who are like, "Oh, I've never heard of this Cobolli guy. Let me just bet Djokovic in straight sets minus 125."

Uh, we've seen Djokovic do the thing where he almost, I wouldn't say intentionally, but it's like he almost needs something to get himself riled up, and he'll, he'll drop a first set. [laughs] So true.

It's almost like, you know, he, he just wants it as like a, I don't know, some sort of sycophantic, uh, way of getting through these matches where he does it, and then all of a sudden Djokovic turns it on, uh, wins in four.

So I would just express a little caution.

I am disappointed in a lot of the sports books for, for the books who are hanging these odds on who would come out of the top half and bottom half, that they just decided not to throw up a men's price on the top half because of the Sinner injury.

Which it's like, sure, like, take low limits on it, but to just not throw that up is, um, is really disappointing because Djokovic I, I think would have been a great bet there, um, given the uncertainties around Sinner.

Even the fact that Shelton without a Sinner injury would still have likely been live in that match.

Uh, but Djokovic would have definitely been a great play before this match to, uh, to come out of the top half, and you gotta think he's, uh, he is by far the, of the four remaining in that top half, he is the favorite, uh, overwhelmingly so, especially with, um, how Sinner has looked awfully compromised.

So the two ladies semis tomorrow, we don't have the line yet on Swiatek-Bencic. I'm gonna guess that Iga's north of a $2 favorite. We do have the Sabalenka line, where Sabalenka's exactly that. She's minus 244.

The American, Anisimova, plus 193 on the comeback. The game's line is four. The total's 21 and a half. Do you have a play on that? Uh, I will go, I'll look over the total in the Sabalenka-Anisimova match.

Um, I mean, Bencic is certainly not your standard unseeded player in the, in the semifinals, you would say, having been a, a Olympic gold medalist in the past.

But, you know, it's, it's I think the state now of the women's game, I mean, I don't think anybody is, is, you know, is afraid of any single player on any surface.

And even though Sabalenka, I've, I've kind of been beating the drum for her over the past couple years, you know, the pricing has now gotten to the point where it is really aggressive on Sabalenka, and she is, should be the favorite.

She is rightful to be, uh, you know, minus 140 now to win it all. But you think about the paths on some of these matches, and it, it seems like she still has a dip at some point i- in, in the best of three sets.

Um, there's gonna be a dip. She got really fortunate. I mean, that third set was just like, you know, watching, uh, the, against Siegemund, was like watching a car crash you just couldn't keep your eyes off of.
