I, I don't love all the days off between games, but, uh, we're one day closer, and Cup Final kicks off, uh, tomorrow night in Edmonton. I'm looking forward to it.

I'm glad you brought that up because that was actually my first question to you is does the long layoff, in your opinion, favor either one of these squads? I, I would say no for this time.

Now, we do have instances where, okay, one conference final might end significantly earlier than another, right? But in this case, it was one day apart. Both teams are getting an extended layoff.

There's no, there's no bodies coming back that are affected by thi- this break.

Now, Edmonton's getting Matthias Ekholm back, but they're gonna, they were gonna be getting him back regardless of what the break was going to be. He was ready to go.

And unfortunately for Edmonton, they lose Zach Hyman, uh, and there is no timetable for him to return. He's, he's... will not be available to them in the Stanley Cup Final.

So it's not going to affect anybody coming back.

And, you know, really both teams kind of hit the reset button, and I, I think at least in terms of the viewer perspective, guys, and, and what we're gonna see in this Cup Final, I think you're gonna get a very healthy version of both of these teams.

Like I said, Hyman out for the Oilers, unfortunate. I feel bad for the guy. He's a competitor, you know. He wants to be out there for this Cup Final.

But Edmonton fairly healthy, and Florida basically fully healthy, and I don't know if you could say that about both of these teams in the Cup Final last year. All right, Jake, I'm gonna derail things here a little bit.

We'll get back to the series, but I do, I wanna g- circle back to something you said off the top kind of jokingly, but the, the shots on goal market, 'cause that was one, I think, when you first brought it up when we were talking on Primetime Action three years ago or whatever it was.

I think it was a market for even, you know, people like me and Matt who don't bet hockey, you could see, hey, I...

That's a little easier for me to re- recognize value in as opposed to some of the other, you know, to score a goal markets, anything like that.

So you've seen that h- tougher to bet, tougher to beat now, and is there other markets that you're maybe looking at nowadays that are like that for player props?

A, a great question, and yeah, the market has changed drastically over the last couple of years, guys. I, I'm looking, like, three or four years back.

You could take six or seven guys and their overs in certain games, you know, maybe higher paced games, and you'd, you'd feel pretty good about hitting about five of those players and knowing you're gonna come out with a, a nice profit.

And, uh, they really changed how they recorded shots on goal in the National Hockey League. They're very stingy with it now.

There's a lot of, you know, borderline pucks that, okay, maybe that was gonna hit the post, you know, if the goaltender's playing it just a little outside of his net.

I've talked to former goaltenders about it as well, and they said they love those saves. That's, like, free save percentage for them. Uh, now those are, those are gone, right?

So they're very stingy, uh, with it, which obviously you can pivot to some unders if you see some value, uh, there as well.

But, you know, going in, into other prop markets, I think a lot of people, myself included, love the blocked shots, uh, this time of the year because guys are, are more ready to get in front of these pucks.

It's playoff hockey, so you, you see your defenseman for some blocked shots. I think that's a market that you could certainly look at in this Cup Final as well. And just your classic point.

They, they can't take points away. They can't take goals and assists away or be stingy with that. Those are, those are always legitimate. So I think looking at the assist market is always nice.

You get a little bit of a, an extra bump up i, in that plus money, uh, for an assist prop. So I'll, I'll be looking to that and, and the blocked shots a little bit here.

Jake, the, uh, series price opened about 110 on both sides as a coin flip, and now seeing a little bit of money come in on Edmonton to where at least at DraftKings they're minus 120, even money there on the Panthers.

When this thing dropped, what did you think of the price? What do you think of the price move now? I, I, I've... Look, I, I, if I'm pricing it, I'm thinking Florida may be a slight favorite myself. Mm.

Just, just before this, the series price opened, and the respect that they deserve for being the defending champs and everything like that. But in terms of the line movement, I'm not surprised at all, Matt.

I th- people wanna bet Connor McDavid, and look, I like Edmonton as well. I, I think that they're ready to win this series. I think that they're, they're, they could draw from their experience from last year.

They're familiar with their opponent. They have home ice advantage. There's a lot of things working in Edmonton's favor that maybe they weren't last year.

I look at the health of Leon Draisaitl, zero goals in seven games in the Stanley Cup Final last year. He looks 100% right now, so obviously we think he's gonna be a factor in this series.

So I totally understand the line movement, and there's also just a lot of Edmonton money baked into the market already. People have been betting Edmonton Cup futures since the, Game 7 ended last year.

As soon as the market opened up, they're like, "Well, they lost. They were close. Next year's McDavid's year." So there's a lot of money already in on Edmonton, uh, throughout the market.

And with home ice advantage, I'm not surprised to see that, that slight line move. But honestly, I would price it very close to a coin flip, guys.

I don't think that there's much separating these teams, and really home ice advantage has not meant all that much in these playoffs so far.

So it's nice that Edmonton has that extra home game if it goes to game seven, but home road doesn't seem to matter to these teams, especially the Florida Panthers.

They seem to be going, uh, be, be able to go into any building in any situation and win a hockey game.

So Jake, I, just reading between the lines, I'm gonna guess that this would be a Panthers bet or pass for you on the series price. What, what number would you need to see on the Panthers to get involved there?

And then are you, uh, uh, otherwise are you just planning on attacking this game to game? Yeah, so yeah. So I will be attacking this game to game.

Uh, like you said, I, I think if, if this was a little closer to a pick 'em or maybe even Edmonton plus money, I would look at betting the Edmonton Oilers here- Oh, okay...

just because I, I do, I do feel like this is their year. I feel like McDavid's just got that look in his eye. I, I struggle to see him losing two straight Stanley Cup Finals.

But now I'm seeing that plus money with Florida, and I'm going, "Man, I have so much respect for this team. They're so good. They just find ways to win all, all these series."

And you could argue they're actually better than the team that won the Stanley Cup last year. So now I'm seeing a little plus money for Florida, but still not enough, I think, to get into the series price at this point.

I think I, I wanna see how these first couple games go, and obviously we're gonna see a shift in the price, so maybe jump in mid-series if I see some value there.

But a game by game situation, and at least for game one, guys, I am gonna roll with the Edmonton Oilers. I think they get off to a good start in this series, feed off that crowd.

They know they can't get behind three-nothing like they did last year, that's for sure. So I think they wanna set the tone early. Um, and I think they're gonna feed off...

That game one crowd in Edmonton is gonna be absolutely insane, and I think they feed off that and at least g- uh, get off to a, a one-nothing series lead here.

Okay, so we're going Edmonton there in game number one, which is good for my Edmonton in five bet that I made, just to have a sweat, #notgam- Maybe... #notgamblinginformation there.

[laughs] Like, they're like, that is not, like, do not- Yeah, yeah... just, just don't, don't take advice on that at all. [laughs] Uh, Jake, six and a half the total there in that one. Are we gonna see goals or no?

Well, I tend to think early in the series is where you're gonna see some goals, guys.

Now, la- last year looking back at the Cup Final, again, I don't wanna read too much into a series that happened last year, but there is similarities obviously with these two teams. And we had more overs than unders.

I believe it was five overs and two unders in the seven-game series last year. So if you look at that, you go, "Okay, may- maybe we wanna play your overs."

And I do prefer overs early in this series, because I think you're gonna see the refs call, call some penalties, uh, you know, maybe set, set the tone.

They, uh, as the series goes on, you get into five, six, seven, the whistles go away, game's played at even strength. Uh, and both of these goaltenders have been playing relatively well, some inconsistencies.

So y- you're gonna see some unders throughout the course of the series.

But yeah, for game one, uh, I tend to lean towards the under, or s- sorry, lean towards the over in these situations, because I, I think you're gonna see more penalties called, uh, in games one and two.

All right, Jake, so I need the official prediction from you. S- uh, who's gonna win, how many games, and then we're switching over to golf and the RBC Canadian Open right in your backyard.

Tell me who you're looking at this week over there. I am gonna take the Edmonton Oilers. I'm gonna take them in seven games. Ugh. Um, I just, I, I- Five. You mean five... s- You said five. Then you need to say five.

Yeah, sor- yeah, sor- Yeah. All right... hey, five, five is possible. If they win both their home games- [laughs]... they find a way to win one in Florida, they bring a three one back to Edmonton.

Five, five is possible, so I don't hate your bet from a value perspective there, Matt, but I, I'm gonna take Edmonton in seven, just for maximum drama, right? A game seven in Edmonton in Canada, that would just be crazy.

And, uh, yeah, speaking of Canada, like you mentioned, uh, in my backyard, a little northwest of where I am, uh, right now, TPC Osprey Valley.

I, I don't understand why he's two, three times the price of a guy like Corey Conners. As great as Conners is, a awesome ball striker, uh, I always prefer to go with Nick Taylor.

He's a guy I trust if he gets in, into contention on the weekend. And I love the Euros. This is a, a bit of a link style course, uh, that we have here. So I like some of the Euro grinders in that 60 to 80 range.

Yeah, as we were talking about before we came on, I, I'm going, I'm gonna lose this one. I took under 38 and a half games.

I thought that Tiafoe's style was going to not play well with Musetti, and then it looked like, I'm like, "Oh, okay, this is gonna work out," 6-2 first set, and then he comes back [laughs] and wins the second set, so I don't think I'm going to stay under 38 and a half here.

It's gonna be a close call for you. Yeah. Uh, really, you just need... You're, you're gonna need, you're gonna need, uh, Musetti to take this one 6-4, and then Francis to let go of the rope- Yeah...

Uh, we do have one more match that people can bet on here today as Tommy Paul and Carlos Alcaraz are gonna go at it. Now, the price- Mm... is huge. Minus 1200 on Alcaraz, eight to one there on Paul.

Is there a different way for people to bet this if they are looking to get involved? I think so. Um, the market is a little overconfident in Alcaraz. It has been this entire French Open so far, for my money at least.

Um, I'm not s- this is not to say he's not the rightful favorite for the tournament, and it's not to say he's not the rightful favorite for this match.

Um, but he has been n- less dialed, less sharp, um, and, uh, just less dangerous, uh, than I expected when we came into this tournament.

Um, had pretty, pretty, uh, lackluster performance against Zoomer at night, notably, uh, which again has been a bit of a Achilles' heel for Alcaraz to this point in his career.

For some reason, when he's playing in these night matches, be it at the US Open, losing to a Botic van de Zandschulp, uh, or dropping a set to Zoomer here at the French Open, like for whatever reason, at night he is not as sharp, um, and he is, you know, is, he's vulnerable to, uh, you know, anyone bringing their best game on a given day to taking some sets, doing some damage.

And Tommy Paul does have two career wins against him head-to-head. Now, they both came in Canada on hard court, and, uh, this obviously a very different surface, uh, when you're on clay.

And Tommy Paul dealing with some injury concerns, uh, throughout the balance of this tournament, but played amazingly well in his round four straight sets defeat of Alex Poppрин. So, um, I think Paul can, uh, hang here.

And I'm kind of, again, hang- I'm hanging my hat on the fact that we have not seen the best of Alcaraz this fortnight. Uh, and we have n- have never seen the best of him at night for some reason.

And so, um, 'cause it's kind of a nice little stew of, uh, you know, kind of soft, uh, you know, circumstantial evidence- Mm... that suggests that Tommy Paul can make a match out of this.

So, uh, I have backed plus seven and a half games, minus 108 is a, uh, fair price, and, uh, just in general hoping that, uh, that Tommy Paul can, can, uh, can show up for us today.

Drew, I know we got a lot of NBA we wanna get to, uh, get to with you as well. So just jumping ahead, French Open here, man, a bunch of great matches coming up the next couple days.

Are there any that you dialed in on, uh, have already locked in for bets? Yeah, uh, we do. This is, uh, probably gonna end up being the best m- slash most entertaining week of tennis that we get all calendar year.

This is maybe the best women's slam that I have lived through in my life. Uh, this final eight, uh, is absolutely loaded.

Uh, and the margin of d- you know, margin of error, mar- margin of difference between, uh, you know, your first best and now your fifth best remaining player is pretty narrow.

Um, the only kind of runner who's not realistically a contender here is Loui- Louise Brasson. Uh, she's the surprise, uh, you know, player at the party, likely loses in straight sets to Mirra Andreeva tomorrow.

But Coco Gauff and Keys is an absolute battle royale. Uh, I have Gauff in the outright market at plus 550. I think she still comes through this.

I still think she should be the head-to-head favorite against Mirra Andreeva in what is likely your bottom-half semifinal.

And then in your top-half semifinal, I disagree with the market making Iga Świątek the favorite over Aryna Sabalenka. Um, Iga comes through in a relatively meh performance today, I thought, against Svitolina.

More of the takeaway was that, o- of that match was that Svitolina just was not really, um, physically ready to go after a really, really, really difficult round four match against Paolini.

And, uh, Sw- you know, s- Iga did her job. She took advantage of the, uh, the, um, you know, the high leverage points of the match. But, uh, Sabalenka is another, uh, level up.

Uh, and Iga having kind of had to come fight hard through the, uh, Rybakina match, where Rybakina eventually let her off the hook- Sabalenka's not gonna do that, and I think Sabalenka's a pretty decent bet at price here.

I would make her closer to -135, and she is a, uh, a small underdog here to Iga. So, um, Sabalenka for me in the women's semifinal in the top. Holding my breath that Coco gets past Tamara Andriova likely on the bottom.

Uh, and then, uh, I still think Coco ought to be, uh, uh, a realistic shot to beat Sabalenka in the women's final. But honestly, it could go any of the top four women right now.

That is to say Andriova, Coco, Sabalenka, Iga. Uh, any one of them could win and it w- shouldn't shock anyone. So, um, really gonna be a f- a thrilling finale to this, uh, really great tournament. Talking to Drew Dincic.

Drew, let's take a hard shift here to the NBA in which we find the Thunder kind of in that -700 range on the series. Pacers about five to one-ish on the series price. Are we out of control here?

Is the number too far or is the number not far enough? Uh, I don't think it's far enough, but I also don't know that it's bettable. Mm.

Um, my fair price here is -861, so I'm about a 90% chance that the Thunder win this series. Um, I make the Thunder nine and a half point favorites at home. I make them five-point favorites on the road.

Uh, my most likely outcome is a Thunder sweep. My second most likely outcome is Thunder winning 4-1.

That feels pretty reasonable to me, uh, just given that you have a young team in the finals for the first time and, you know, they're gonna have a, they're gonna have a little bit of a challenge on their hands going to Indiana in that environment, uh, and, uh, you know, getting game three.

So I think we very much live in a world where, uh, Indiana takes game three and, uh, the Thunder come through 4-1 clinching at home. Uh, the Thunder are just such a phenomenally impressive team at home.

It's tough for me to see exactly how Indiana finds their way in, even though Indiana is kind of a, uh, you know, a unique team to prepare for and really well-coached, and Haliburton obviously is playing out of his mind right now.

So it's, it's gonna be, um, you know, it's not going to be easy by any stretch of the imagination but, uh, when you kind of break down these player-by-player, uh, ratings, for me at least, uh, this is the first series where Indiana's not gonna have the best offensive player in the series.

Uh, Haliburton was the best offensive player in all three rounds that we've come to this point, and now Shai is clearly the best offensive player and, uh, they're gonna have a difficult time matching up with him defensively.

Uh, and then if you wanna make an all-defense team, guys, let's pick the five best defenders in this series. Guess what? They're all Thunder. [laughs] Yeah.

Like, the, literally the closing, the closing five for the Thunder is the best five defenders in this series.

Uh, so I mean, if it's a close game, if it's, you know, if you're trying to, uh, you know, put this thing away in, at the death, it's certainly gonna be Thunder defense in my opinion.

And so, um, yeah, really, you know, I'm not saying that this is, like, you know, the most confident angle of the season by any stretch of the imagination.

And, and if you haven't been listening to us, then you don't have any Thunder already in pocket at much better prices, so I don't know what to tell you.

Um, but, uh, it, uh, to me at least, this is, uh, looks to be a pretty clean, done and dusted, uh, Thunder in four or five.

Well, for me, again, kinda thinking that this tacks into a likely short series, it would be sort of se- series long player unders, uh, is a pretty fun angle.

Um, I do think that game by game unders is the, is the, uh, angle of attack as well. Um, not especially close to this game one total, if we're being honest. I'm closer to 220.

Um, so it's, uh, it, to me at least, I think this tacks, this, this is pretty clear, um, series long player unders.

Um, and if you wanna get, like, crazy weird, um, and I don't, I'm not, I'm not trying to, like, kinda lean into recency bias because, um, we did just live through a s- Eastern Conference finals where Pascal Siakam stole the, uh, the Eastern Conference MVP from Haliburton somehow.
