0:25
Kelly's behind the glass because it's time, as it is each and every Thursday at 12 noon Eastern, 9:00 AM Pacific, for Unscripted with the Crack Man, Bill Krackomberger.
0:35
Here it is. [upbeat music] Aw, yeah. Bill Krackomberger, everybody. Morning. @BillKrackMan with a K on Twitter.
0:54
Iconic with the Kangol. Who made the Kangol fame- more famous, LL Cool J or Bill Krackomberger? I don't know. It's awesome. It's awesome. He- I, I think I was wearing it before him I think you were.
1:03
[laughs] You usually wear it hat to the back too, right? Sometimes. Yeah, okay. Depends if I need a, a, a team to score a goal or something. Oh, I see. It's very scientific. No, I'm joking. That's really not me.
1:12
How you doing, man? At all. Good. Good. I got so much to talk about. All right. Some... I just thought about when you were coming on, I didn't even tell you this part. Hmm. So a couple days ago I get a call
1:21
from, uh, someone on the inside, a bookmaker.
1:24
You know, a bookmaker calls me up and said, "Listen, we got this game," this is four hours before the game, "We got this game, and it, you know, the game line's like 15 and a half, in the first half's four and a half."
1:36
So I said, "Well, I, I, I don't know what to say. It's weird. It shouldn't be that. It should be like, you know, seven and a half- Sure... you know, obviously, maybe even eight. First half sometimes a little stronger."
1:43
I said, "Let me call Alan Boston." So I get Alan on the phone and I put him on speakerphone. Um, no, excuse me, I put him on a conference call. You press plus, you can put him on a conference.
1:51
But this was for- This, this is a college basketball game? Yeah, two days ago. Okay. Fordham and NJIT. Okay. So Alan, Alan's like, "Wait, what?" He's like, "No." He goes, "The, obviously the favorite's the play."
2:01
I said, "Alan, something's fishy here. Uh, and, and it's not a wrong line. It's four and a half at three different books. It's five at four of the books. The game is actually 15 and a half and even a 16 out there."
2:13
He said, "Yeah, it's wrong. The line's wrong. The first half Fordham is the right play." So I say, I say to him, "Alan, though, but something's funny here. It, it just looks funny.
2:23
I, I'm not betting it, I just, I'm trying to help out one of the BMs." Um, legal, by the way, legal, big, big M, BM, just asking me an opinion on something. And, um, sure enough, that game was...
2:35
Oh boy, it's so hard for me to say this. I hate using this word. That was probably a fix. NJIT won the first half easily as a big dog, and- Didn't they win the full game easily too? They won the full game too. Yeah.
2:47
Doesn't that... So that kind of goes to the, maybe a little- Imagine, Bill, I've never, ever said a game was a fix. I've never said anything was actually fixed. Like, I know the Donahue stuff was fixed, you know, I know.
2:56
But I gotta tell you, man, when do... Enough's enough. I mean, how are, how s- First of all, it's on the extra board. It's not a regular game. It's on the extra board. It's NJIT and Fordham.
3:10
You know, it's not really big schools. How much money can you get down on a first half of an extra board game? Bill Krackomberger would have trouble getting down 5,000 cumulative... You're not, not even that much.
3:23
Like, y- you know, I guess they're paying players or something. And I, I, did you, did you hear about this? I, I did, yeah. Okay. I got a text about it. Should I have not brought it up? [laughs] No, we...
3:32
No, no, no, we haven't, I haven't brought it up on air, but I- Yeah...
3:35
I, you know, 'cause it was one of those things where it still played out for the full game, so the, the notion that it was different from first half to second half didn't end up making a difference, right?
3:44
Uh, it, it didn't. Yeah. It didn't. Yeah. But, um, when you get a call ahead of time, and of course you look at it now and say, "Wow." Yeah. "I should've known," you know?
3:53
But it's funny how Alan said, "No, the first half, the favorite's to play," and I said, "Well, something's funny here." I'm not... And now it's talked about a little bit in media. Yeah.
4:02
And for me to come on and talk, I hate... I think the public thinks everything's fixed, so I hate- There is a type of-...
4:08
even giving them- There's a type of person that believes that everything is fixed I, I, I hate giving them any fuel. Yeah, yeah. But I, I've seen some things recently that have really bothered me.
4:19
Well- This, this bothers me, that, that there's such a black eye on this, you know, between the NBA stuff that went on, the poker games- Listen... that are rigged.
4:25
Well, we just, we just had Dave Ross on earlier, we were talking about a UFC match this past weekend. Yes. You hear about this? Yes, of course. Right. It, it dropped, uh, like- It's like-...
4:33
at game time, at fight time it dropped to like, um, you know, plus 125, and was plus 215. Right, so the in- the integrity, that, the company that Dana White uses for UFC flagged it. Dana White calls the fighter- Yeah...
4:45
and the fighter's camp- Yeah... uh, "Are you hurt? You owe somebody some money? You in trouble?" "Nah, man, I'm good. I'm gonna crush him in the first round." He gets beat in the first round. Yeah.
4:55
So yes, you're right, Bill, with the confluence of all of these things, right? UFC, preceded by the NBA one, then throw in this little college basketball one. Yeah.
5:05
For those of us who have spent a lifetime saying to people that the, every, you know, "It's, oh, it was rigged, it was totally fixed" - Yeah... to that crowd- Yeah... who have dismissed them summarily, right? Yep, yep.
5:16
We have to take at least a half step back- Yeah... and say, "Okay, maybe I shouldn't blanket it so much anymore." Yeah, you know- I do think that's fair... eyes were on the screen at all times.
5:25
You see my live screen there. Yeah. Eyes on the screen at all times. I wanna tell you something about that fight. So if you're watching the screen- Yeah...
5:34
and you see a plus 190 or a plus 200, now you see another book go to minus 180, instantly I'm saying, "Well, there's a big bet that came in at one of the books, and maybe that..." So
5:45
I automatically revert to, "Well, let's, let's see. This, this line, let me get a scalp out of it." I don't really scalp, but if it's right in front of me- Mm-hmm... I'm gonna scalp.
5:53
If you have like, you know, uh, I think there's even odd service that I think on, on Spanx that sh- tells you it's scalp. I, I, I don't do it, so I don't, I don't arbitrage.
6:03
But it was right in front of you- I gotta be real blunt. I think it's total BS that some of the books did not pay on this, and I'll tell you why.
6:13
If you're just a, a Joe Public scalping, taking 195, laying 180, and just trying to make 15 cents on a, on a dime bet, well, I heard some of the books aren't paying the one side. So now you...
6:27
It's not our fault that the screens, you moved your line. I can't tell why. Totally. Why should I be penalized? Yeah. You know?
6:35
So, um, I, I think, you know, I, I understand Dana came out and, and, and said stuff and- He said it right, right after the fight. Right after the fight. They called, they called the FBI. Yeah, called the FBI. Yep. Yep.
6:45
I mean, to be blunt, it's just, uh, it, it's unbelievable that some of the things that are going on, the intelligence level of, uh, you can't get down a lot of money on a basketball first half.
6:57
You can't get down a lot of money on an NBA prop. That's my business is to bet props. So I just know- The-... unless you really have a real dumskey and you have a guy that- [laughs]...
7:08
that, that, that's, that was, um- Dumskey...
7:09
yeah, if you have a guy that, that like, a, a rich businessperson that has a big account at DraftKings or something, you know, he's blowing his money, playing the casino, blowing his money,
7:19
and he's allowed to bet whatever he wants, unless you have him in your pocket, I guess, but what, what are you gonna get down? 20 grand, 10 grand on a prop?
7:26
I, I can't believe they'd even take that even off a, a sucker's account. Of course, the irony of all of this that needs to be voiced, right, is that
7:34
because legal- legalized sports books, who part of their selling point is, "Listen, everything's gonna be above board.
7:41
We'll be able to monitor, you know, it's, uh, this, we're taking it from behind the, you know, the, the dark, uh, you know, areas of life." Yeah.
7:50
"Now it's all out in the open, and so we'll be able to monitor this stuff better." What in fact appears to be happening, right? Yeah.
7:58
Is that a group of people that wouldn't have bet or wouldn't have even been aware of where to bet in offshore, faraway places, now with the access to legalized books, this is not a knock on legalized books monitoring or their ability to do so, but because it's so, now it's out in the open, betting is, and because legalized sports books are everywhere, there is a, there is a group of society that wouldn't have otherwise been betting who now are like, "Oh, look, betting.
8:27
It's a thing. It's legal. Let's..." And then, then their human instincts of chicanery and criminality come into effect, and it wouldn't have
8:37
in the past because they wouldn't have even thought to have made these bets because it's not out there in front of them. They weren't open to doing it at illegal shops. Yeah. Does that make sense? Yeah, of course.
8:47
So it's like, so the, the, the, the strange side effect of legality is that now it's just out in front of people, and p- people, like you just said, "Hey, well, it's right in front of me. I gotta arbitrage this.
8:57
Well, here's a sports book. I can bet legally. Let me mess around with it and try to d- exploit it in some way." You know, Gil, uh, they got what they wanted.
9:06
When PASPA was overturned, they probably didn't put enough time into it and enough research. They were blinded by the buck. They were blinded by money. And still are. So they passed all these things. What do you expect?
9:21
There's gonna be more. There's gonna be more. It's so, and, and it'll be to the end of time when you have all these legal sports books in your face, licensed sports books.
9:28
Now, you would think, "Wow, Bill Krackomberger's talking about that?" Um, 'cause I make my living betting sports. I make more money betting sports than any other, any other media source or anything I do in life.
9:37
So to, for me to say that, it really means a lot. I would, I, if I thought about it again, when we were over there at the South Point in the book- May of 2018. Right, so that's seven years ago. It was more than seven.
9:50
May, May 14th. Yep, yep. Uh, to be what it is now, I, I, I wish it wasn't reversed. But, well, you know- I do. I do. Even though I made a lot of money- Yeah... on bonuses at the beginning. Right.
10:01
They were giving ridiculous bonuses. It's just- The other-...
10:04
there's so many moving parts, so many peop- It, for the human condition, like you say, these kids, these lawyers, doctors, businesspeople, housewives going broke, uh, you know, in, in their house dresses playing casino games, it, it, it, it has done, a, a job on America, and we don't even know it yet.
10:19
We don't even, it hasn't even- Typically hasn't... fully been exposed. But I'm, I'm also, there's so many o- other ways also con, to contextualize it too.
10:26
I'm also struck by, you know, the fact that you have the legalized sports book community, right, who everything is, the, the way that the rules are, you just pointed out, "Oh, now we're just not gonna pay out on that," right?
10:38
So everything is in their favor, right? They can manipulate it so they, you know, they're always the ones doing the screwing but never the ones getting screwed. Right.
10:47
And then they're the, then they're the same people, right, who because they've had to get licensed, they hate the fact that somebody else came in with prediction markets and sort of trumped them on top of it, right?
10:59
So the same greed that exists at that level towards the, the bettor, they're the s- they're the ones that are screaming and crying about the fact that these other people have come in and have exploited the system and have been, in a very short time, wildly successful, even though they're justified and like, "Oh my God, those people didn't have to get licensed," right?
11:16
So I'm just saying humans' hypocrisy, humans, the, uh, when things go their way, all good, but as soon as things start to go against them, no matter how greedy they are to begin with, they start crying themselves.
11:28
So there's so many ways to look at all of this ecosystem. It just- There is. You're right. I don't mean to be just be- Yeah. I, trust me, I'm not anti-sports book. I'm not. No, no, no, no, I'm just saying.
11:36
But it's just that I, I, I've seen so many things growing up where I did, doing what I do. I see what's happening now, and, um, it, it, it probably is, uh, [sighs] you know what?
11:46
It, it's even strong saying I, I didn't, don't want it, but, um, it's, it's a lot different than I thought it was gonna be. For sure. I think a lot of us could say that.
11:55

12:59
Keep going, Crack man. Thanks." Thank you. Chris Heath adding [laughs] Chris Heath said, "Adding another BM to my vocab." I thought about that too when Crack s- [laughs] when Crack said that. What did I say?
13:10
You sa- You, instead of saying bookmaker, you said BM. Oh, yeah. And, uh, most people, you know, consider that to be a bowel movement, but, you know- Oh, wow... whatever, whatever, whatever people like.
13:18
"Get the money racing. My guy moved limits on added games from 3K to $500 after the NJIT game. He got whacked. He's been booking for 30-plus years, has never seen something so off." Oh, see, so that was a... Yeah.
13:31
Mm-hmm. Chance Copper Pot, "There's a huge difference between a bad actor throwing a match and magnets inside of the balls.
13:37
The people that say Vegas made the call are not the same as people that fully admit sometimes athletes are compromised." That last point for sure, Chance, no doubt about that. Um, let's see here.
13:47
Emily Betts, "Listening to Unscripted with Crack, I already cashed in Crack man saying, 'Let me be blunt,' over two and a half in the first five minutes." Yeah. Cashes. There you go, Emily. The cashes.
13:58
Um, let's- All right... Nick, Real Nick says, "There are a few people, there are a few people I could listen to tell stories as much as Crack.
14:03
It's on my bucket list to one day go out to breakfast in Vegas and just BS with Crack for a couple hours." Well, thank you. There you go. I have so many more.
14:10
I have so much stuff I've never even told people, it's just amazing. I, I put notes down once in a while. I have ADD, so I put a note down.
14:17
I try to find them and I'm doing so many things, but I, I, you know- Yeah, there is, because, uh, I even know this for a fact, because you and I have been doing this show for, we've been doing this for eight years. Yeah.
14:25
And, and last week, we're in here, I thought I'd know everything about you. Uh, by the way, Mako says, "Come on, Gil, BM is baby mama." [laughs] So there's that, too.
14:35
Um, uh, and you were, we were talking about the NBA poker, the NBA betting scandal, and the poker element of it as well where, with Chauncey Billups, and then you said to me, just casually off air, you're like, "Oh yeah, um, my guy, uh, Irv Gotti."
14:49
Yeah. Right? Yeah. Who's no longer with us, I believe. He just died. Yeah. He just died. What a shame. He used to put together poker, poker games. Oh, yeah. And I'm like, "Irv Gotti? How do you know Irv Gotti?"
14:57
I, I, I know, didn't know you knew him. Well, I don't know him. Yeah. I didn't know him. I knew the name. But I- Yeah...
15:01
but you, so then Crack produces, Crack c- you know, immediately produces pictures of himself with Irv Gotti, with, uh, Fat Joe, with Ja Rule. Yes. You know all these guys. Yeah. [laughs] That was back in the day.
15:15
Um, he used to have a poker game every week. Um, I sent some photos to Kelly of, um, me and some of the guys there, and, um, he just said, "Give me a couple minutes, I'll put the pictures up," he just said.
15:27
But, so they had an underground game back then, and Irv Gotti was, uh... Irv and Chris, I, I, by the way, [sighs] boy, I was so, I felt so bad when Irv died recently.
15:37
He's, like, my age, and, um, Chris, his brother, I mean, their real name is, uh, Chris Lorenzo, Irv and Chris Lorenzo, they started Murder Inc- Yes... which was a, a rap label. Yes, it was. [laughs] Is that right?
15:48
Uh-huh. No, I, I, I actually, how, how could I be around those guys and not even know? But I knew they did, and, um,
15:55
I was introduced to them from some, uh, a, a guy in New York, and I went to their, um, he al- he always had these charity games and underground games and, you know, poker games. You don't think nothing of them.
16:05
I mean, I went to games all over the city. When I lived there, you have to understand, when I, I, I lived there, you know, there, it was a half-hour away.
16:14
I used to go o- you know, over the Verrazano, and there was a great game that I played. I think I told you this before. I was introduced to a game from a Jewish guy that I know, very, very sharp, by the way.
16:25
Um, he lives, he lives in Costa Rica now, a very sharp guy, though. And, um, he introduced me to, he, he sat me down in this game on 7th Avenue, below, below?
16:35
Oh, above, above a Petland Discounts, and I went every Wednesday for, like, two years. Um, you know, oc- occasionally you miss it with some games, but the game was so good. It was me, it was Dave, and, like, [sighs]
16:51
eight or nine Hasidic Jewish people. [laughs] That's outstanding. And they, and, and they used to- That's awesome... straddle, straddle. They used to s- straddle. It was the wildest game.
17:01
I remember telling Dave, I said, "Dave, I can't beat this game." [laughs] It's limit poker, 10/20. Fantastic. They called me Villiam with a V, Villiam. Villiam. [laughs] Villiam, and zuck to you, Villiam.
17:10
I, like, I would straddle. It was, they, they used to love to straddle. If people don't know what that means, it's a 10/20 limit game, and
17:18
by the time it got to me, they're, they're not even watching their hands, and they're making it 40. So straddle, they make it 40. The next guy just makes it 60 without even looking at his hands.
17:27
That's the kind of action they had in this game. By the way, this was 30 years ago. So, uh, I played in a lot of these games. That game was the wildest.
17:35
You had to change your, your card, um, your starting hands because you had to adapt to the game. I couldn't beat the game at first, then it got to be a great game.
17:44
Then, then you're, you know, you're five, seven of spade, you call the 60 bucks cold 'cause they don't know what they're doing.
17:49
You know, like, or, you know, it was, it was a, maybe not five, seven, but, you know, connectors, suited connectors. But I played a lot of poker back then. I played in New York. I played on Park Avenue.
17:59
There was a giant game, uh, out of my league, by the way. I played in the smaller game there. One on 27th. There was, um, underground games downtown in Chelsea. One was called PlayStation.
18:10
Um, I got to meet the guys that had the original, uh, room based on, of course, Rounders and the Mayfair. Uh, I, I played in a lot of these games. By, by the way, you're talking, you're talking 30 years ago.
18:22
It was just a, it was a time that I never thought that a poker game would've been fixed or cheated, um, but you see these shufflers now, how they ar- ar- now it's 30 years later, technology, but back then, though, I wanna tell you something.
18:35
There was still those, uh, you know, they-... these that you put in your eye. You put a, a lens in your eye, a contact lens in your eye. They wouldn't even know that the cards were rigged.
18:45
Not, not in these games, but I've seen them at blackjack tables where they ho- you know, ho- house games, underground clubs, after-hour joints.
18:53
I've seen that, um, the, the Feast on Mulberry, there's a church down by, it's on Mott Street, though. On Mott, there's a little church there. It's right down the street from Wo Hop. People might know Wo Hop.
19:06
There's a little church there on the same side as Wo Hop. They had three different tables in there. Two were blackjack, so you're playing underground games. You're playing those games. I grew up around those things.
19:15
In the Bronx, the Feast of St. Anne, these are, the, the boys run them, or ran them. They don't do it anymore, not the, not the underground games.
19:22
But, um, you never think that just the house edges should be enough, and you have to cheat people. So they had bar boot back years before me, these dice games and magnets on the table. This was 35, 40 years ago.
19:36
If they could do that then, what can they do now? Whether it, it's played with a dice game where you, where you actually the, have a magnet that turn the dice or whatever to seven or whatever.
19:44
It was just, uh- You know, you remember, um, in D.C.- I never talk about these things... Mayor Marion Barry, remember he got- Yeah, yeah, I do... he got caught with crack cocaine? Yep.
19:51
He would, there were poker, there were underground poker games all throughout D.C., and if you stumbled on the wrong one, they'd be, "Yeah, that's the mayor's game." Like, he would, he would, you'd be in on it.
19:59
He'd, he'd take a cut of it. But let's, can we go back to the, to the- Yeah... hip-hop stuff, though? Yeah. Irv Gotti, Ja Rule. Oh, yeah. Sorry, that's where we started. Yeah.
20:04
Jesus, I'm all over the pl- I'm all over the joint. Irv Gotti, Ja Rule, um, Fat Joe. Do you remember him? Yeah, Fat Joe was so nice. I gotta tell you something. So he's at, he's put at my table.
20:12
There's the picture of me and Fat Joe. Look at this. So- Look how s- look how y- you, you look like- I, I think we're-... Skinny Bill right there next to Fat Joe... No, I, I don't think so.
20:18
I, I, you can't wear white in a white hat. Back, back then, that was 30 years ago with a white hat, like, with a Kangol, so yeah, sorry about that, LL. I had the Kangol before you, buddy. Um- Was, uh, was Big Pun there?
20:28
Would you remember Big Pun if he was there? No. No, okay. Well- But Fat Joe was so nice that night. That particular night, uh, he never played cards before, so he's, he actually got a lesson from me.
20:38
Him and I were at a table alone. I was showing him the card values and stuff. He never played poker. Yeah, he, he, he knew the game. He knew, like, aces are good, like, you know? Yeah.
20:46
But he, that, that was a cool night, and, um, uh, Ja Rule was there. Ir- like I said, Irv, uh, there was a lot of big names in that room. I mean, they, he had, like, it, it, it was, um- Any that you can remember?
20:58
Yeah, who, who, who was married to Beyonce? Isn't that terrible? Jay-Z. Like, Jay-Z was one of his guys. Like, Jay-Z would show up. Still married to Beyonce, by the way. Yeah, yeah. Isn't that terrible?
21:06
I don't know the names, name, names- That's all right. Jay-Z was there, too? Jay-Z has been there a couple times. Just- Not just... As a matter of fact, Irv, Irv just passed last year. Jay-Z was at the funeral.
21:14
What year are we talking about here? '98 maybe, '99. So he would, he would've just met- Maybe 2000. Yeah... so you never saw Bey there with him, Beyonce with him? No. No. Mm-mm.
21:24
He probably d- hadn't dated her at this point. No, I only went to two of those games. No, I'm sorry, I went to three of those games. Yeah. Three of Irv's games, and, um, they were fun. They were cool.
21:32
That was a magazine I used to write for. There's Ja Rule and Bill. Look at that. Yeah, I actually wr- oh, oh, oh, by the way, see my f- see my fingers there? [laughs] You snapped him. Ja Rule made me do that.
21:39
[laughs] No, he, I had, I ha- I pointed to him. He goes, "What are you doing?" See my fingers there? He said, "Put your fingers like..." He physically grabbed my fingers and s- There... and did whatever that means.
21:47
Hopefully it means nothing bad. But yeah- [laughs]...
21:49
that was an article I wrote about The Sopranos there on that article, uh, being with The Sopranos that night, so that had to be, uh, a- after 2000 that, that, uh, that night.
21:58
That was, uh, that might've, yeah, it's the same night. So that was, like, uh, like I said, '98, '99, 2000. Whenever The Sopranos came out, just came out, first year, that was a hot thing.
22:06
But- How is it that me and you have been doing this for eight years, and we've known each other for more than a decade- Yeah... and this has never come up? I've never talked about it. I just, it's, uh, it's on my phone.
22:12
I thought about the, those, those games I used to go to, and, um, you know, uh, I'll say something else, too. I'm going off the subject of hair.
22:20
You find me an NBA coach or an NBA player that doesn't maybe gamble or doesn't have a friend that gambles, someone in the, in his en- they all have entourages. They all gamble.
22:30
They, so it's hard to dangle carrots out there, you know, to, to, to, to some people. Someone told me this, and I agree with them, that it's just hard.
22:38
It's hard for these kids, they're 23, 24, 25 years old, it's hard to dangle carrots out there with cash, and they have such big payrolls with their entourage. Uh, I'm not taking their side. I'm just giving some facts.
22:48
That's all. Bill Krackenberger, everybody, hanging out with- [laughs]... Ja Rule and Fat Joe- Very nice guys... and Jay-Z. And, and, and Irv, Chris Gotti, great, great guys. The late Irv Gotti.

23:43
Looking forward to saying hello." We look forward to saying hello- Cool... stu- to, uh, Stringfellow Hawk. Uh, Kevin Ryan, "Gil, Fordham was lined over under 89 points." Is that true in that game?
23:53
Hmm, not sure if he's talking about the, the same thing. Uh, Crane Pool, "A buddy of mine was with the, uh, NYPD working in Chinatown.
24:00
He told me the buildings there had underground tunnels where you could go building to building- They absolutely do... where there were card games and table games. He found this by chasing a guy who robbed a deli." Wow.
24:10
Uh, Jason Ice Cold Gambler, "Talking about poker games in New York straight out of the movie Boiler Room, LOL." Oh, yeah. French Rabbit, "Love Crack Thursdays.
24:17
He had the pleasure," or had the pleasure, pardon me, "of running into Crack at a certain golf course in Georgia a couple Aprils ago. Flagged him down to say hi, had the honor of having a quick chat with him.
24:26
Same guy we hear on the air. What a mensch." You're a mensch. Oh, nice. That's nice. That's a compliment. That's ni- When you call you a mensch. That had to be Augusta. Uh, that's the only- Yeah, I would imagine.
24:33
Brian Shaffer31, "Crack is an onion. Hanging with Big Pun, Jay-Z, MC Search, and Nas. Unbelievable." Did you say MC Search and Nas? Did they get in there?
24:41
I don't even know who the other ones are, but they could have been there. [laughs] MC Search is with, uh, come on, you know MC Search. No, I really don't Who, who's that? MC Search? MC Search.
24:51
Yeah, you don't, you don't know MC Search. No. I, I had trouble remembering who JG was just now. Pop Goes the Weasel and the Weasel Goes Pop. That doesn't mean anything to you? No. I didn't think so. No.
24:58
[laughs] It's no, not my music realm. Nas you would, you might recognize. Nas I know the name. Mako, maybe something you can discuss. We all know the casino cage sweats big chips.
25:06
Resorts World doing something interesting. They're hosting a big poker series right now. When cashing out poker players, they give them a poker slip with the chips. Wow. You familiar with this? That's very interesting.
25:15
So in other words, they're, they're so worried about the $5,000 flags, they call them flags, or the thousand dollar chips that they're actually giving them a slip with that to be able to cash it at the cage.
25:24
Now, that immediately resorts to, to, to, uh, resorts, it's just a play on words, my h- my, my mind automatically says some chips have been missing or stolen. Mm-hmm.
25:34
So for them to put that out there, or they, there's, there's chips, maybe a, uh, a prostitute stole a... Why do I have to talk like this?
25:41
[laughs] A prostitute maybe stole off a guy in a room and they're missing 30 or 40,000 in chips. Why it gotta be her? It's street, it's street things though. Yeah, yeah. It happens.
25:49
Guys don't want to admit it too, they get robbed in their rooms. They're so idiots. So they, they, you know, they keep their Rolexes out and their chips out and they, you know, they get robbed.
25:56
Now they wanna blame the casino. Rolled as, uh, VR used to say. Rolled is the right word. That's correct. They get rolled. Yeah. So maybe there's chips missing or something.
26:03
I'm not saying that happened, but that's what my brain r- you know, resorts to, is just chips missing or something. Scola says, "If only we could get Crack to reach, to recite Ja Rule lyrics now, that would be epic."
26:12
[laughs] Yeah, wouldn't know any. He didn't know MC Search, so I- No, sorry... MC Search with Third Base, by the way, just to clarify for people. Oh. Uh, okay.
26:19
Um, we had Tony F- you met Tony Farmer outside of the studio. Very nice guy. Tony Farmer was here talking about Survivor. Oh, okay. He mentioned something that I'm, I, I promised I would bring up with you. Uh-huh. Um,
26:30
so people are buying, so there's 1,769 entries left in Survivor. Oh, I'm glad we're talking about this. Go ahead. People are buying, right, there's a secondary market- Yeah... Survivor Sweat, I believe it is. Yep.
26:40
They're buying other people's entries. Yeah. Portions and also in full. Yes. Right now every entry is worth, the intrinsic value of each is $10,500 plus, right? Right, right? Yep.
26:49
That's what it's, the value is right now. Gotcha. People are buying them, according to, uh, Steve The Proxy, anywhere between 1.7X to 2.5X of their current value.
27:01
[laughs] This is exactly what I knew you were gonna, I knew you were gonna have this reaction, right? This, I, [laughs] I even called it. I'm like, "Crack is not gonna like this."
27:09
So I had the same reaction, although I didn't laugh as mockingly as you did, right? I'm like, "There's no way I'm doing this," right? Especially there's 1,769 entries left. There's no way I'm doing that.
27:19
Even if your entry, by theory, by what's left, right? 'Cause some people say, "Oh, my entry's better than your entry."
27:25
Even if you have the most pristine entry there is at this point in the contest, there's no chance I'm giving you a premium. Yeah, listen, uh, the guy Sh- Shalans- Shalansky who runs this show- Stephen Shalansky.
27:37
Yeah The documentary dude. He texts me about a guy that had six entries and a guy that had four entries. They go, they, they wanna sell, but they wanna... He said, "I'm too embarrassed to tell you the premium."
27:46
I said, "Tell you what, I don't even wanna know. I don't even wanna know." [laughs] 'Cause I, I bought, last year we bought into a team, paid $45,000 for, um, my group.
27:56
And, uh, you know, we bought it for face value when it was down to, you know, there was only 50 ent- 60 entries left. But at this point, with this many entries- That's what I'm-... you're asking a premium?
28:06
That's what I'm screaming. Yeah. Take it on the hop, as my father used to say. What'd he say? Take it on the hop. Take it on the hop. Yeah, hop on your way out. Do a little hop at the door.
28:13
You and your big shot airlines. Yeah, I mean, come on. That's ridiculous. It's r- it's absolutely ridiculous that people are asking premiums. If that's the case that they're actually selling, well, then guess what?
28:25
Next year I am gonna b- get into these contests with multiple entries just to get to, like, week 6, 8, 7, 9- And sell... and, and sell. Just to sell part of them. If, if they're getting premiums on the entries.
28:36
Well, he also made the point, which I think was, was equally interesting, and I think he's right about this, that at some point this will revert, right?
28:44
So right now they're worth 10,500, people can afford to pay a premium- Right... when asked.
28:49
But let's say we, we go forward three, four weeks from now, five weeks, whatever it is, and the remaining entries will be worth, I don't know, let's pick a number, 80,000, right? Right. Okay?
29:02
At that point you're not getting a premium, 'cause people don't have that kind of money to throw around. That's right. Right? So at that point you'll get face for a percentage.
29:11
I mean, you'll try to sell percentages for a premium, but at that point more likely you will get face or less. And I think that's probably true to some extent, even though the, the seller will try to get a premium.
29:24
But there's no way, I, I was saying, uh, I invested in something last year. I played f- I paid face. Mm-hmm. Um, I know Fezzik has, has invested before. He's paid less than face. Yeah.
29:35
Well, that, that, that was good for us. Yes. I was involved in that. Yeah. Yeah. So I, I just- That was good for us... I just think this is in- but this, way too early. No.
29:43
You have no, even, even the perceived advantage you think you have with your entry, come on. Y'all watch the NFL before? This, I mean, this is not, you are not at any distinct advantage at this point.
29:54
No, it's, it, it's crazy. And I've, I've seen it from other people too. If you're asking a premium, you gotta remember this, there's a lot, there's a, there's taxes involved, there's taking care of people involved.
30:03
There's a lot of things that, a lot of moving parts, so, so even the, um, uh, even the, the, the big one, the Grandissimo, people wanted to sell a piece of their team. They were asking for more money.
30:13
It, you know- Yeah... it, it's how many team- how many people left there? 15, something like that? 11. 11 left in Grandissimo. Oh, it's down to 11? What's it guys? So, so people had g- I, see I totally stopped following.
30:21
I think it's 11. Okay. I believe so. Yeah. Oh, this, this hand here. This, this, this, this video poker thing that happened to me. Yes. Show this. I want people to know about this.
30:29
I know it's not a great picture 'cause I didn't want them to know I was taking the photo. You could see that, that's the slot tech. You could see by the, the, the bottom left-hand, uh, of, of the game.
30:39
So I made a giant, giant error. That's right. Here's what happened. I'm playing video poker, five dot, that's a $75 hand game.
30:47
Playing some, um, bonus poker or whatever it was, and, and, and, um, I'm playing for a promotion and- I, I'm, I'm actually stuck about two grand at this point. Uh, and, and the waitress comes over to me.
31:00
Now, I'm not blaming her, but the waitress comes over to me, and at the point where I was dealt two, three, four, five, six of diamonds, which is a straight flush- Mm-hmm...
31:09
on a $5 game it's $1,250, but I'm playing times three, so it's $3,750. And the s- this is, it's impossible. It can never happen again. It's like Ace Rothstein, the three jackpots that happened, three 10,000- Oh, no...
31:24
it can't happen. I- The numbers in the billions. The numbers in the billions is what happened to me here. It'll never happen again in my lifetime. She comes over- Oh, no... and take, and the bottle of water- Oh, no...
31:36
slips out of the th- o- off her tray. Like, it, it literally, it was my fault though. I didn't think to go grab it. I dropped it. It bounced onto the hand that threw the hand away. You gotta be kidding me.
31:46
This is, it can't happen. It's in the billions. It's al- actually hard to believe. I said, "Oh my God, it just threw my straight flush away." Imagine me getting dealt a straight.
31:53
The odds in getting a dealt a straight flush, it's 10,000 to one.
31:58
So the odds of getting dealt a straight flush, just for it to happen, the waitress there at the same time, the drink dropping at the same time, it's impossible. I said, "Thank God." I said, "Listen, roll the tape.
32:08
Roll the video tape, you guys." Roll the tape. "Roll the tape. Look what, look what happened here." And so the g- the guy, now, I, they, they don't have to roll the tape.
32:14
If you're a good player, an established player at the g- these games, you can tell people, you can tell the slot tech- Oh, wow...
32:21
a- and the shift manager to come over and say, "Listen, they c- they can run back I think five or 10 hands they can run back. It was the last hand."
32:27
As you could see on those, on the bottom of that king, 10, two, three, eight, there's tiny little cards. Yes. That shows you the last hand. It's hard to see. That's two, three, four, five, six of diamond.
32:36
And they seen it, they just had to get it approved, and they paid me the $3,700. They gave you your money. Yes. They gave me the $3,750. Wow. They gave me the money even after I threw the hand away.
32:48
But amazingly, the bottle of water bounced, it had to bounce right on the... And that's another thing, it has to bounce on the, on the draw button.
32:54
It can't bounce on a hold button or so- I mean, unbelievable that that happened to me. And I, it's my fault though. I should've held it right away.
33:01
And, and, and, and, you know- Did, did, did she have any r- any, uh- No... uh, understanding of what had just happened? No, she didn't do nothing wrong, though. I, I did it- Yeah... when I was gla- grabbing it. Yeah.
33:08
Like, I like slipped o- I grabbed it on the, off the tray. Now- I know it was you, but did she have any understanding of what had happened? No, she still doesn't know. No. No. She doesn't know.
33:15
So there, there's Kelly's jackpot from yesterday. Yeah, little Kelly Bilin messing around. Look at this kid. Yeah, yeah. A- and, and there's a question of when you get dealt quads, yeah, you do hold the seven.
33:23
And it's an old wives' tale maybe. Just so you hold them all. There's no draw for anything. You don't m- mentally mess up and throw it away. You just hold them all. Hold them all.
33:32
We were, we were surprised Kelly got to work this morning after doing that. [laughs] Yeah, I wouldn't, I wouldn't be at work. Yeah. No, but that, that's, uh, video poker. So- I wouldn't be at work [laughs]...
33:39
there's some strange tales from the felt.
33:41
If you get dealt a hand, if you make a mistake, if you went to hold a card it didn't hold, you can always ask for the slot shift manager and, and, and they can run back up to 10 hands.
33:50
What percent in your head were you sure they were gonna pay you? No, I was like, I was... Listen, I'm a gambler. I was like 50/50 at best. That's what I thought. $3,750, that's a lot of money. Good, good for you.
33:59
Coming back with Crack on The Numbers Game right here at VSIN.
34:02
[upbeat music] A Numbers Game on VSIN, the sports betting network.
34:18
Back on The Numbers Game live from Circle Resort Casino downtown Las Vegas. Gil Alexander. That right there is Bill Krackenberger, everybody @BillKrack, man, with a K.
34:26
The name of the podcast, Wise Cracks with Bill Krackenberger, which you, uh, do with John Orlando. And, uh, a- again, a thank you to, to Bill because he has just sort of strolled on in here the last, you know, six weeks.
34:39
Matt Boyer you brought in, Terry Watanabe you brought in, and of course last week- Yeah... uh, Jeff Nadew was on here- Yeah... with you. All friends. And, and we broke that Matt Bo- Let me tell you something.
34:50
Matt Boyer, when he was on VSIN with us- Yeah... the next week is when his press tour was. So we had him first. Yep.
34:56
We, I mean, we, I, I knew that though, 'cause Matt actually invited me to his house and said, "Listen, I'm gonna be talking to ESPN, CNN, uh, something Underground Belly or something like that," like some big site.
35:06
And he goes, "You wanna, you guys want the story, come to the house first." Came to the house, the next day he was on VSIN too. Yeah. Yeah. That was great.
35:12
And, um- Matthew made the- He's, he's, he's, right now he's on the inside. He's on the inside. So he's got a year. Yeah. He's got a year and a day.
35:18
So, uh, h- hopefully he'll do a little bit less, come out and, uh, you know, start his, uh, tour of things. That's w- I, I like Matt now talking about responsible gambling. It's part of my platform.
35:29
It's hard to believe a gambler that makes his living gambling talks like... Yes, I do.
35:33
So just like at the beginning of the show, um- Just to give people context, uh, Jeff Nadew was on the NBA gambling scandal last week, um, Terry Watanabe who lost $350 million in a casino, and then Matt Boyer, who Crack is referring to, who, uh, was the bookmaker with, uh, Shohei O- Otani's interpreter.
35:50
Yes. Uh, Matthew Mayberry on Twitter, "You gotta ask Crack if he ever heard Ja and the boys talking about the Eminem beef. Eminem basically destroyed Ja Rule's career." Oh.
35:59
No, Eminem, the, the, the, the kid from Detroit. That's the one. Which, by the way- That's correct. That's right... I know him. Yes. I know, I actually know a couple of his songs too. Do you? Eminem? Um- Yeah? Yeah.
36:07
Yeah, yeah, sure. Sure, sure. I spent, I spent an entire day with Eminem in the '90s. Really? At the X Games in San Francisco. He didn't say a word. Oh, he's a, he's a, I almost said the F word. He's an effing weirdo.
36:17
He's, he was super... I mean, he wasn't huge at that time yet. Right. It was just after Slim Shady. It was right- Right... or My Name Is, I should say. Oh. Um, did, uh, did Ja Rule try to sell you on the Fyre Festival?
36:27
[laughs] Oh, that's, I heard of- He came to s- He came to sell that... oh, was he involved with that? Yeah, he was involved- Oh... with that. Ja Rule. Oh. I'll tell you what, they were very friendly- Yeah...
36:34
tho- those guys. And you wanna know something? Yeah. I met more guys that day that I know were big rap guys 'cause people were taking photos with them. And you don't even know who they were. I don't.
36:41
And, and I was t- I, I, I actually, um, uh, I, I just started writing for that magazine and we, we covered the poker scene. And, uh, it was just a day that, that... I, and then I, I got invited back a couple times.
36:53
And like I said, Irv and Chris, Chris is such a nice guy. Chris is his brother. And, um, Chris Lorenzo, and my condolences to him still, still fresh in my mind, fresh in his mind.
37:03
His, you know, his brother was, like, 54, 55 years old. It's terrible, terrible. So, um- Chris Heath, had a colleague that hit 15K on a $2 scratcher at lunch.
37:11
Boss sent him home for the day 'cause he knew he was useless after that. [laughs] Wow. That's what we were saying with Kelly, would Kelly even come to work? Uh, you're defending Kelly, by the way.
37:18
His strategy there was, uh, was okay? Oh, yeah, the strategy, you know, you gotta hold the four or fives, but- Right... I just said you have to, you should hold the seven also. He should have held the seven. Why?
37:27
Well, because it, they say about a malfunction. I've never seen a malfunction in a game, but- Yeah... uh, but the bigger part is you're so excited you got that. There, there, there's a perfect example.
37:36
I, I can't read all of them, but that's a bonus hand in the middle of a 3X, 4X, four, a 4X, 4X, it's, it's four times pay actually on all of them. So
37:45
it's so much money that you're winning, you say, "Oh my God, I can't believe I have it." And you may hold the wrong, in the, in the moment of excitement, you may hold the wrong cards. Just hold them all.
37:53
Now, if you get dealt, this, this particular game he was playing, double, double bonus or double bonus, if you get dealt f- uh, four aces, twos, threes or fours, the opposite, you do go for the kicker 'cause the kicker pays more.
38:06
So, um- Right... there, there's the amount. How much is that? 2,500? 2,500 was it? Is that in the middle, 2,500? Yeah, 2,500. Yeah. Yeah. So you- Mm-hmm... you're winning so much money for a $15 bet.
38:14
You could get excited, I think, you know? And of course you're gonna be excited and in the, in, in the heat of the battle. So you're just, so you're just saying it's a good habit to get into.
38:21
It's a good habit to get into. Okay. But always know that your aces, twos, threes and fours, you should, uh, definitely don't do that. Make sure you throw the kicker. Just when you get dealt a big hand, calm down, relax.
38:33
Yeah. It's okay. It's video poker. They, they beat you over the head every single time- Right... as you're getting some of your money back. Just calm down and just try to- Yeah...
38:39
be in the moment there and realize what's going on. So I guess what I'm getting at is people, people who are going after Kelly on Twitter, they're just mad because Kelly, 'cause Kelly won all the money.
38:45
If people are going after him- Yeah... they're just, yeah, but, but I don't, you know, people go after people because they're jealous. If only Kelly was here to defend himself.
38:52
Yeah, no, um- Minky, Minky Monkey Man, "What a great story from Crack. Maybe I missed it, but what casino was he in when they paid him out? Seems the right move to give them props for doing the right thing.
39:00
Doesn't happen often." You know, it really does. And when I asked them- Yeah... I said, "Listen, you guys did the right thing here. I, I, I have a couple shows I do. I'd like to mention."
39:06
He goes, "You know, you, we would rather not, not mention the casino." Okay. Yeah. They were really nice, though. But I wanna tell you something. It has happened to other people around me.
39:16
I've never had them to go, have to go back, but someone next to me playing, he had the same thing happen on a very smaller level for, like, 125 bucks. Um, actually it was 125 quarters. Wow. So to, even to think about it.
39:30
Yeah. And I said, "Call the slot attendant." They'll re- Slot attendant came over. They instantly, shift manager come over. "Yeah, just pay him."
39:36
Would it have been a different outcome at your number, $3,700, if it weren't you? They, they didn't know who I was. Okay. They didn't even know, not that I'm anybody, but they didn't know that I host a show.
39:46
I didn't tell them that until after. Yeah, no, no, it, it, just because I was a player, a rated player with a card.
39:51
By the way, I was stuck $2,000 playing this promotion, um, that, that, the reason why, and so I, I, I, it's not like I just came in for a hand or two. I didn't have a player card. They didn't know.
40:01
I had a established account that, there that was, you know, I, I lost 2,000 bucks that day, but I wound up winning actually about two grand.
40:08
Loser Larry on Twitter, Loser Larry for life, he says, "Hey, Gil and Bill, that Poker Life m- uh, that Poker Life magazine signed is up for auction." He's talking about Sopranos signed moker- uh, Poker Life magazine.
40:17
Wow. Up for auction at eBay, on eBay. Really? Well, guess what? What? I think I have a box of them- [laughs]... in my storage. Do you really? I do. I have a box of all different ones. That is one of them. Signed?
40:26
Um- This one's signed... that, that one's not signed, but I ha- I do have many. It's funny you ask that. Yeah. I have a ton of Soprano memorabilia signed, as I'm spitting. Um- Your favorite show of all time?
40:38
Feels like it'd be your favorite show of all time. It w- it was unbelievable. Yeah. It was unbelievable. That, that show, if you look back at it- And so rewatchable, so rewatchable... it, it's so, it's so rewatchable.
40:47
And, uh, I love that show. I watch it every year. I haven't watched it in about a year. I'm due for a whole thing to watch. I usually watch it after basketball season.
40:53
Did not watch it this past year, but that is just such a great show. It was done so well. It was based on David Chase, who is Italian, by the way. Um, you know, him li- growing up in, I think, Bloomfield in North Jersey.
41:04
And, um, I ha- I, I was around those guys many times. I have pictures of me and Gandolfini, me and all the cast, me and the crew, and, um, I got to have some nice autographed pictures and memorabilia.
41:15
I never even think about selling it, to be honest with you. And God, if something happened to me, my, I don't think my wife would even know what to do with it. You know, like- Yeah... it's signed, signed stuff. Yeah.
41:23
Uh, Richard Ng, "Gil with Bill and Fezzik, best segments on VSIN. Bravo." Well, the, all, all praise to Bill and all praise to Fezzik, uh, for your segments. Um, okay. So you're out of all survivors, right? Yeah.
41:36
Grandissimo and, and Classic. Yeah. You betting football these days? You said something to me off air. You, you're like, "The NFL just, just like-" Well, it's, it's just impossible.
41:45
The NFL, I, I've been saying it for every year. NFL, you know, any given Sunday, anything can and will happen. Yeah. You know, there's a lot of people that came after me for saying that.
41:52
"But Bill, what are you, what are you doing? You know, you're in the pick game. You can't tell people NFL's unbeatable."
41:57
I'm just saying that NFL sides are the closest thing to, it, it, it's, I, I used your word a couple times during the week. It's Plinko. Um, Green Bay, look at Green Bay. Uh, Detroit last week, I mean- Yeah...
42:10
losing outright. I mean, um, 14-point favorites are not supposed to lose out. And it was a 14, by the way, here in town in that game. 14-point favorites, 13 and a half, they're not supposed to lose on the money line.
42:22
That's why people always put them in, throw them in their parlays. Yeah. Oh, let me throw them in. Yeah. That's an easy winner. And, um- And yet... and, and yet these things happen.
42:29
Now, props, you're not gonna beat me on. NFL player props, NBA player props. College basketball, I, I, I thought I was starting out on top of the world here. Oh, yeah. How you doing with that?
42:38
College basketball, I started out the first day 3-0. The next day, like, like I, I, I started out 4-1, and, uh, yesterday I got a reality check and I went, either, uh, for the games I bet- Yeah... I think I was 2 and 5.
42:51
Like, you know, it, it, it's, it's 2 and 6. I think that was kind of universal yesterday, though. I thought, I, I feel like a lot of people- I had some of those big dogs- Yeah... lost at the last minute. Yeah. Yeah.
42:59
Um, but, like, today I'm on, uh, I, I'm on a game, uh, I hate to give games out. Care to share? Yeah, sure. Sure. Um- Game 656, Ohio minus one. Uh, let's see where it's minus one, minus 15. Yeah, b-
43:13
it, it, it's, uh, it's like far off places, minus one. I, maybe I'll go to the money line here and resort to the money line. Money line minus 118, yeah, that's good.
43:21
That, that's actually better than minus one and a half. So, um, one's not a popular number, by the way. Two and three are the more popular numbers.
43:27
Two, three, and five, um, which I, I've talked about before, buying to that number, buying to two, three, or five. Um, so that's one of the games I'm on today. What is it again? Which i- which side? Ohio University.
43:37
Ohio University. Athens, Ohio. Okay. Cobblestone streets at that university. I've been there multiple times. My father was, um, from, uh, South, uh, Southeastern Ohio. Um, but before we go off air- Yes, sir...
43:47
I gotta talk about this real quick. Okay. I've checked with three different people this week. A pit boss, a shift manager, and also a poker shift manager. Three different casinos, nothing to do with each other.
43:59
Yes, I was right, 'cause someone on the social media guide... N- nothing, nothing's wrong when he just said, "Bill's probably wrong about this." No, I was actually right.
44:06
Playing poker, you have a chip there, a $5,000 chip on st- on top of your stack. You go to the bathroom, you come back, the chip's gone. Not their fault. They do not care. They're not even gonna get involved.
44:17
They may look at it on camera. Even if, even if it happens right in front of them. Right in front of them. Someone swipes your chips from the poker table, it's your responsibility. Same thing with the blackjack table.
44:26
"We're not responsible. We're not gonna chase someone out the door," the shift manager told me. That's what you said, sprint out the building. You were talking about last week.
44:31
Off the record, he said, "We're not gonna be... If it's off the record, Bill, I'll tell you. We're not... We're gonna help maybe in trying to find out who it was, but we're not responsible for your chips."
44:40
It came right from executives in casinos this week. I always wonder, people just leaving tables all the time with their stacks up there. I always thought about that. I'm like, "You trust people?" Uh, no. It's amazing.
44:49
Not the casino's responsibility. It's a civil matter. Bill Krackomberger, everybody. Prop Points, John Hanson next. Enjoy, from Vs and the Sports Betting Network. [upbeat music]
