I was on with you last week saying, "Hey, uh, right now, jump ball," and I'd probably go 51/49 Skeens, and at that point, Skeens was, like, plus 300.

So that being said, now I think Skeens is in, like, that minus 180, minus 185 range. I still feel the same way. I still think it's, like, 51/49 Skeens. Yeah.

This kid Acuna stepped in and done well. And, uh, I was actually at the Mets game, I think it was the day they lost, and they went 11 games under 500 in June, and here they are. They've been red hot since.

This isn't, you know, a hot streak, this is just they're a very good team, and their pitching staff has been, you know, built from the scrap heaps with Severino and Manaea and, uh, Quintana.

And I'm sure you'll remember the series two years ago, late in the year, same sort of scenario.

Second to last series of the year, they went into Atlanta only needing to win one game to pretty much lock up the division, as, a- again, as you well remember. Oh, yeah. Uh, and they lost all three of those games.

They had a lead in all three of those games. But they limped into that series. They were, they, you know, the, the vibes weren't good. They played poorly s- in, in September.

This is the complete opposite, where they go in red hot. They probably, you know, if you f- if you got one of these, you'd feel good. But again, I'm just gonna take the plus money here. I think Severino's been good.

Schwahnbach has been pretty good for Atlanta. The interesting thing about this series, uh, there's a hurricane headed for Georgia sometime this week.

I don't know if they're gonna be able to get this game in in Atlanta, you know, later on in the series, the Wednesday, Thursday games. We'll have to see.

But, uh, I do like the Mets plus 120, and it would s- would set up to your point about the Royals, uh, Braves Royals this final weekend, that's a fascinating series. It's just, it, it's such a fun time of the year.

And they called up, I dunno if you saw this, Jackson Jobe, Joby, the, the top pitching prospect in baseball. I don't know if they're gonna use him out of the bullpen. I guess they will. So Tigers are going for it, man.

You just, you don't get these stories in any other sport, where, like, the Mets are 11 games under 500 in June. The Tigers, I think, were eight games under 500 August 10th.

By the way, to your point, we have the, uh, the September, uh, standings in Major League Baseball, the Mets with a two-win lead over the field. Wow. Um, inter- Mets are 15 and five in the month of September.

The next best team is the Padres at 13 and five, then Tigers 13 and six. Your Yankees 13 and seven, a couple of 13 and eights. Uh, by the way, the Phillies clinched the division.

Are you a proponent of the team just won a division, fade away the next night kind of thing? Uh, by the way, the Mets closing in on a monthly championship. They've been close on a couple of these monthly championships.

No, I understand the, uh, you know, the angle fading the, the Phillies. They're, they're partying. They're champagne and beer, and they're probably hungover.

You'll probably see the B lineup, so it'd be Cubs or nothing, but it, it is not something I'd bet. It's remarkable, though. Uh, I don't know, did, did you see this is the first time they won the division since 2011? Yes.

That shocked me. I mean, I- Me too... because they're good every year, you know. They were in the World Series a couple years ago. They were almost in the World Series last year.

I guess, when you think about it, you know, these other teams have just taken turns winning it, but I was very surprised it's been that long since they won the division.

Yeah, even the Nationals won a division in there- Yeah... if I'm not mistaken. Uh, so NFL, let's go to NFL, week four. Have you bet anything? Yeah, I bet a couple things, and I have not, boy, I don't know how you feel.

I have not had a great feel for these teams- Me neither... these sides, but this is a week where I actually like a few things. I think Dallas minus four against the Giants is a little light.

Uh, they have just dominated the Giants, and look, they're, they're still a much better team than the Giants. Giants, you know, give them much for home field, so I'm okay with laying the Cowboys.

That same sort of line of thinking, uh, y- you mentioned with Drew, the Seahawks, like, okay, they're 3-0, but who have they beat? Has it been that impressive?

Uh, Detroit's laying four on Monday night against the Seahawks. That building's gonna be rocking. Uh, I'm okay laying the four there. You know, I, I don't know. I think the threes are still there with Bears, Rams.

I just don't know how the Bears are a three-point favorite over the Rams. Rams are just so well-coached, you know. No Nacua, no Kupp. That was incredible win the other day.

I'll, I'll take the three here with, uh, with the Rams, and I think the threes are gone with Minnesota. Um, th- there were some this morning. It's like, plus two and a half, minus 102.

There's no point taking plus two and a half early in the week, but, uh, I don't know that, like, home field's definitely not worth two and a half.

I don't know that you can make Green Bay a better team on a neutral field than Minnesota.

I think this team is, I, I can't believe how well the defense is playing, and they're actually gonna get Jordan Addison back. They're gonna get Hockenson back. Darnold's played well.

They've got a good offensive line out there. Their over under is 10 and a half, which is incredible.

You don't really think of this team as, like, being an 11-win team, but Vikings are really good, so I will bet the Vikings. But, you know, why take two and a half when you might be able to get a three?

I'm not sure what is a better story, the Vikings or the Packers. I think you can make- Vikings... a case for both, you know? 'Cause- It's the Vikings, for sure. [laughs] It's the Vikings, for sure.

I was gonna say, that's the, the, the, the two teams I've been- Yeah... the most impressed by, so I don't know. They're playing each other this week. I'll stay it on the sidelines. Well, it's, like, Vikings, for sure.

[laughs] Even, even beating the Giants week one, that's kinda aged well, because the Giants probably could've, should've beaten Washington, then the Giants had a convincing win against the Browns, so, like, all of their wins have been really good.

I find it the same way with the end of season September into the playoff situation. You can have a team that plays hot, goes in October, carries it on, and keeps going.

You can have a team sputter to the finish line, barely get in, make a run to the World Series, or limp out in that first round. There's nothing that's indicative about it.

So I'm not gonna take any individual factor of playing poorly and say, "That is now going to carry into October."

Obviously, injuries and losing players will be a big deal, but actual play, I truly couldn't care less, because that's how the players are. They don't care.

But right now the Mets with a two-game lead over the Braves for the final wild card position, the Diamondbacks with a one-and-a-half game lead.

And the two teams you talk about now, Diamondbacks and Mets, n-not surprisingly, have been two of the best second half teams after some disappointing first halves there. So when I look at this series, the way it sets up,

I still lean toward the Braves because of their pitching, and I know that Sean Manaea has been an absolute monster for the Mets, and Severino's been really good, and David Peterson has been, too.

I just named all three of their starters. They've been good. But Schwellenbach, Sale, Fried to me is a distinct advantage. And so that-- I lean toward the Braves on this three-game set.
